FAQs
Is this a non-profit organization?
Yes! “Back 2 Blacktop.” is now an initiative of Greater Bolton Outreach Services. The 501(c)(3) believes in closing the gap in churches, schools and communities; whereas our vision for the youth is in alignment to join forces to partner and build. In the timing of local youth being out of school for the summer, we want to do what is best for the community in a timely manner. Members of RUTU Consulting Firm, LLC will remain responsible for the day to day operations as it relates to Back 2 Blacktop.
How are donations tracked?
For our financial records, it is important to include the category of your donation which aligns to the community you wish to invest. If no information is listed in the memo, funds will be tracked within the general/administration bucket. The general/administration funds will also be used to incorporate future enhancements. If material or services are donated to a specific town, the overall cost of the project will be reduced and updated within the itemized print-out of expenses that will be shared with the mayor and council members who have voted to support the initiative.
What is RUTU Consulting Firm, LLC?
RUTU Consulting Firm, LLC is a for-profit business that is designed to, preferably, work with small business owners and communities to solve various “problem statements” that exist at micro and macroeconomic levels. Having a network of resources throughout various industries, RUTU is built on the business model of “Reach Us, Teach Us.”
How are donations spent?
The funds will be allocated toward repairs of existing asphalt/concrete, mural and backboard designs, art supplies/materials, restoration/replacement of basketball goals/rims/nets, and other administrative items required to successfully complete the effort. Donated funds will also pay for the food, beverages served during community day events and DJ (if applicable.)
How can I stay “in the hoop?”
Please stay connected by following our pages across social media platforms. Our commitment is to provide a weekly update at a minimum. To successfully complete or achieve our goals, there are countless hours that involve networking with people of various communities and organizations. ALSO, if we have not been in contact with you yet, please do not charge our heart; and, do not hesitate in reaching out to us first. We have a small team that operates on weekly sprints.
What tasks/activities are volunteers needed for?
On Prep Day.
We ask members of the local community and alumni of area high schools to participate with us in the clean-up and priming efforts of the court. At a designated time, we will also need volunteers to assist in serving food and drinks to participants and attendees. For the size of a single court, we need approximately 10 volunteers.
On Paint Day.
We ask that you join our DREAM TEAM as we begin painting the basketball court(s.) If there are any former athletes or local artists that are interested, we need approximately 10 volunteers.
On Present Day.
We want to FEEEEEEEEEL the sense of pride in your community. Therefore it is time for the local mayor/community advocate to lead our celebrations in cutting the ribbon, with food, beverages, MUSIC and games as we celebrate the FUTURE for our youth. Depending on the number of RSVPs, we expect the need for 2 volunteers for every 10 expected attendees.
More information will be provided within a 72-hour response time to your registry.
